Since the Health and Safety Commission (HSC) published the Guide to managing health and safety
in paper mills - Part 6: Making paper safely last year, many mills have sought to implement its
recommendations. Whilst the document outlines required methods of protecting workers from
hazardous machines and machine parts, it is naturally unable to offer all-embracing guidelines, due
to the precise nature of potential dangers differing from mill to mill. For employers, the easiest
solution is to rely on the expertise of a safety company capable of installing safeguards tailored to
